Unconscious Flow

  This painting is linked to the unconscious flow series, this particular piece was inspired by types of music I listen to. Music has great impact on my paintings I like listening to Psychedelic music it seems to make my soul bounce it makes me paint with such free spirits and all of that comes through my paintings. During this painting I was allowing myself to paint with rhyme, some marks are loose some marks barley touch the papers others are heavy with passion. Hilma Af Klint is one of my favourite artist she was very advance for her era, she was one of the first abstract artist of her time. I wanted to capture my soul whilst listening to the Beatles, the underground and many others, how they make me spark with such colour hence the bright colour use. music was the making to this piece. Unconscious flow

  These two paintings were the awakening to a series of works, that I will come to talk about. My works are always somehow connected to a flowing motion, in everything we do or anything around us I see a continuous in, we are a species of habit let it be in the smallest ways. For these two paintings I researched a lot on ceramic vessels and studied the markings, markings we don’t give much attention to. vessels of various colours and shapes I found that I was drawn to the markings and cracks there was a connection that was there that reminded me of flowing rivers that made me look at maps, how peoples lives take various derations in whatever the situation is there’s always motion, flowing, change a continuous, we are very like that vessel with the cracks and markings or maybe even the unfinished piece how the blood in our veins run through our body like one big map that never ends. Vulnerable

  Photography is the core to my work that’s where ill capture the body and bring it to my paintings, I like working with the natural light of the day and seeing how it reacts to the form, how it hits in different ways creating shapes and shadows. This piece is large in scale, I used oil paint and thread through this work. In any works of mine there’s always personal meaning that people can relate to. It seems that being vulnerable is a great source to creating, Vulnerability has always been something that followed me. I wanted to express this feeling in this painting. Capturing the naked skin that’s the true feeling of vulnerability when we are at our purist, where true vulnerability exists. The use of tread in this painting is in relation to a flow of feeling, there’s something about tread that reminds me of how we are, how it moves to rhythm to a reaction, how it moves to a touch. tread is a material that can keeps us in touch with the sensory in whatever way we use it. Autumn Blooms

Autumn Blooms is a two piece painting each are 70x50cm for theses paintings I used leaves to engrave the markings of Nature, I used large paint brushes and created a sense of flow throughout the paint. Autumn brings us a wide range of yellow, browns, oranges etc. Changes with every leaf that falls slowly to the ground.
